BerryOatmealI prefer steel cut oats because of the health benefits, but a lot of my clients don’t have time to prep these in the AM.  So I’ve given you two options, both prepared the night before.

Hot Steel Cut Oatmeal

The night before, bring your milk to a boil and throw your steel cut oats. Boil for one minute, then shut off the heat, cover and let it rest overnight. The next morning it is thick and tender and perfectly cooked. A 1-2 minute warmup is all that is required to get breakfast on the table.  Top with berries, cinnamon and honey.

Overnight Cold Oats

  • 1/2 – 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1 cup of Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 – 1  cup of berries
The night before add oats and yogurt in a bowl. Stir in yogurt until completed mixed in. Place in fridge over night. In the morning at breakfast time remove the bowl from the fridge and stir (add another tablespoon of yogurt if you prefer). Add berries.
